Hi, I’m Winter.
I am an ordained clergy person with over 20 years of experience leading ministries, creating innovative programs, and serving in a variety of roles, including executive, pastor, and mentor. Serving congregations of various sizes has provided valuable insights into congregational culture. After successfully doubling the faith formation program of a large congregation over three years and during the pandemic, I found myself needing a break. For the first time in two decades, I took a short leave from serving a congregation and had the opportunity to visit other congregations, initially those of clergy friends.
These visits often led to discussions where my friends sought my input, which was a humbling experience. The last church I served had abundant resources, a large staff, a healthy endowment, and a building that could support various internal and external programs. This was quite different from the churches I visited. My diverse experiences allowed me to work alongside and lead a multitude of different programs and ministries. I participated in strategic planning teams, wrote policies, clarified brands, and created (volunteer, intern, and staff) leadership development programs for multiple churches.
In conversations with other clergy, a common theme emerged. These congregations sensed a need, but hiring someone full-time wasn't necessary. Usually, they needed help in specific areas like creating a discipleship pathway or strategic planning, rather than adding a full-time clergy position.
Feeling called to help these congregations, I established Winter Hamilton Consulting. As an ordained deacon in the United Methodist Church, I am called to operationalize the implementation of the vision cast by church leaders. I assist in making their vision a reality and facilitate the process of clarifying it when needed. My services are flexible; we can adjust to any amount of hours over any given time period. Together, we can achieve your church’s goals.
